A hospital is more than a place where people go to heal, it is a part of the community that fosters health and represents hope.

From providing treatment and comfort to the sick, to welcoming new life into the world, hospitals are central to a healthy and optimistic community. That’s the message organizers are touting with the 2010 National Hospital Week theme “Health, Hope & Healing.”  The event theme is the centerpiece of a promotional campaign aimed at uniting health care facilities across the country during the May 9–15 celebration.
“National Hospital Week, first and foremost, is a celebration of people,” Garrett Hoover, President/CEO of Nason Hospital, said. “We’re extremely proud of each member of our staff and we recognize the important role they play in extending a sense of trust to our patients and our communities.”

“Nason Hospital has served countless citizens long and well.  It has been the ‘birthplace’ of thousands of our fellow residents.  The facilities have housed those we love in their hours of need and suffering.  As a familiar landmark of help and service, it has welcomed our friends and neighbors and returned them to us with renewed health, hope and joy.  The walls of Nason are warm with kindness, skill and compassion of a staff dedicated to service.” 

These sentiments are taken from a 1956 Nason Hospital brochure.  “The above quotation still accurately reflects the service that Nason Hospital has provided for the community during the past 110 years and the care and commitment that we will continue to provide today and in the future,” said Debra McGraw, Nason Hospital  VP, Nursing/Patient Care Services.  National Hospital Week is the nation’s largest health care event and dates back to 1921.
