Visitor Restrictions during Influenza/H1N1 Season

Visitors are limited to close family members only – visiting hours are unchanged.

Do NOT visit if you are:

Feeling ill
Have flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, head ache, chills, fatigue, diarrhea, vomiting)

Caring for a person with flu-like symptoms

Visitors will be limited for patients’ hospitalized with the flu. Only adult, immediate family members will be permitted. Visitors must wear protective equipment and adhere to infection control policies as guided by the nurse.

Children that have recently been exposed to another ill person with the flu should avoid hospitalized patients

As always, good hand hygiene and cough etiquette practices will help reduce transmission of germs.

Vaccination and avoiding close contact with sick people are the best methods to prevent the flu.
